| | Status: | Permanent, Full-time | | Job Outline: | As an Assistant Manager in our busy Oakville location, you will work closely with the Store Manager to provide our customers with the lively, inviting environment and outstanding customer service expected from a visit to Mastermind. In this permanent, full-time position, you will bring your enthusiasm to a variety of day, evening and weekend shifts as you provide leadership and training to the team on the sales floor. You will contribute your administrative skills to the management team as you participate in your share of the operational duties required of a busy retail store.
| | As you assist the Store Manager, your responsibilities will include: | Leadership: - Participating in the day to day floor supervision of salespeople, cashiers and inventory staff.
- Training, motivating and coaching store staff to be ready to meet our customer’s needs, knowledgeably assist our customers with their product selections and achieve Mastermind’s customer service excellence
- Training and coaching staff on Safe-Work policies and procedures, modeling those habits in your day to day work
- Managing the employee schedule to ensure optimal levels of staff are scheduled to meet customer traffic and customer service expectations
Store Operations: - Presenting our customers with an engaging environment of an attractively merchandised store and knowledgeable, helpful sales staff.
- Training and supervising staff on relevant store operations: POS procedures, merchandising, inventory handling, day to day store upkeep
- Training and coaching staff on Loss Prevention measures
- In conjunction with Head Office, arranging for repairs and maintenance to keep the premises in top quality condition
| | Required Skills & Abilities: | - A demonstrated flair for customer service
- A demonstrated, dedicated team player with supervisory experience and strong leadership skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills;
- Able to problem solve and resolve conflicts quickly, diplomatically in a customer focused manner
- Organized, energetic and able to adapt quickly to a fluid environment
- A knowledge of child development is an asset
- Computer literate - familiar with MS Office products
- Good time management skills, able to multi-task and align priorities with company values
- Flexible and available to work a varied schedule including days, evenings and weekends
